Webelos from Pack 136 visited the Jackson Township Fire Department in Grove City on Nov 13, 2018 and learned first hand the importance of being a First Responder.  The Webelos were working on their First Responder badge.  Thank you firefighter Fraley and Jackson Township Fire Department.

Pictures from Fall camp out 2018 at Madison lake

Even though we had to cut it short,  we had a great time at Madison Lake.
The campers enjoyed lots of activities including:  Halloween trick or treat in costumes, dog food slingshots, water rockets, craft making, kick ball, parachute games, treasure hunting as well as some den time to work on badges.

Fall 2018 - Welcome Back Pack 136 !!!

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer! It is time again to start focusing on scouts! This is a busy time of the year. We have a few important dates to mark on the calendar. All new scouts are invited to attend any or all of these events.


1. Arts in the Alley parade: Saturday, Sept 15th, 9:30 a.m.
  • PLEASE SIGN UP ASAP SO WE KNOW HOW MUCH CANDY TO BUY. More details will be sent closer to event date! 
2. 1st pack meeting of new scouting year: Sept 20th, 7:00p.m. First Presbyterian Church 
  • Police and Fire Department Expo- learn about public safety and get the opportunity to sit in the vehicles brought onsite
  • Start of popcorn fundraiser sale- Information at pack meeting
  • Ice cream party- come and get your free ice cream cone. YUMMY
  • NEW scout sign up table in the gym   
3. Fall Camp-out at Madison Lake:  Oct 19th -21st (More Details to Follow)

2018 Webelos Summer Resident Camp

Webelos Camp has much to offer your Scout this summer!  This program is offered as a “round-robin” format, so that all Scouts will have the chance to experience each area of camp while working on the adventures awaiting!  With emphasis on having fun and enjoying camp, they will earn requirements often without realizing they are learning! Free time is scheduled so that they can return to an area they already enjoy or venture out to explore a new area of camp, with guidance of course!

Webelos Resident Camp will also help prepare Scouts for further adventures in Boy Scouts and the Camp resident program.

Every Webelos Scout will get to enjoy climbing, archery, BB shooting, slingshots, handicraft, the pool, nature and CFR Labs.  Each campsite will rotate through the program areas daily. Tuesday night at camp will be the camp wide game, Wednesday night will be movie night and Thursday night is Family night.
Registration:
$190 Scout/$110 Adult – Regular Price by June 1st  
$210 Scout/$125 Adult – Late Fee if after June 1st

Please check with your Den Leader to verify which session your Scout should attend.

2018 Cub Scout Day Camp – Bug Hunters

Cub Scouts can participate in many types of activities including, archery, BB-guns, sling shots, field sports, nature, arts and crafts, scout skills, and a variety of other events. All areas (especially range activities) place a special emphasis on safety procedures. It’s a fun-filled week of challenging Cub Scout activities, exciting adventures and new friendships. Camp is open to all Cub Scouts who will be in first through fifth grades as of September 2017.
  Where: Deer Creek State Park                 
  When: June 5th – 9th 2017 
Regular Rate: $80, must be paid in full by June 1, 2018
Walk-in Rate:  $100, paid in full after June 1, 2017
Adult Walkers:  $15

Are you ready for some creepy crawly fun? Sign up for 2018 Cub Scout Day Camp, discover new friendships while looking for bugs, earning belt loops, and having fun. Throughout the week, Cubs will encounter activities related to BUG HUNTERS.  Enjoy the following activities:  Archery & BB Gun shooting, sports, crafts, water games, and nature/ecology stations and MORE!

What is Cub Scout day camp all about?
It’s a summertime program for Cub Scouts and Webelos to get outside and do activities with friends from their pack.

It’s a fun and exciting camp experience! It’s the first step in the camping progression. Scouts spend each day with the same group and visit a variety of program stations. At the end of the day they return home. It’s a place for Cub Scouts and Webelos to test themselves, participate in new activities, make new friends and learn something along the way.

April Pack Meeting – Columbus Zoo Visit

When:  7:00 pm
Where:  First Presbyterian Church (FPC)

This month’s pack meeting will feature some really awesome animals from the Columbus zoo.  We will have the opportunity to learn about the animals that travel with Jack Hanna.  Discover where they are from, their habitat, status in the wild, what they eat, and possibly touch a bird, reptile or mammal.   Do you wonder what surprise animal guests we will see! You will have to come and find out.

Adopt-A-Street 2018

We have adopted the street Southwest Blvd. We start picking up trash at the intersection with Broadway (corner at Jolly Pirate Donuts) to the stop sign at Richard Ave. We pick up both sides of the street and the DQ parking lot. Please pick up any large trash you see in the field. Scouts that participate will get a free DQ ice cream treat upon completion.

This is a friendly reminder that your den will have street pick-up during the following assigned summer months.

Spring Family Campout 2018

Circle the date on your calendar and join your Pack for a family campout at Tar Hollow State Park from Friday, April 27th to Sunday, April 29th. Tar Hollow is located near Chillicothe, Ohio. Check- in will start Friday evening and we will be departing mid-morning on Sunday. Even if you are unable to stay for the whole time, join us when you can. If any boys have food allergies or need gluten free items please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan the food menu accordingly. 

Some activities you can look forward to include BB Guns, Archery, fishing, campfire and much more. Our FAQ Guide will be coming soon.

March Pack Meeting – Den Celebration 2018

Our March pack meeting is going to be a Den Celebration on Thursday, March 15th at 7:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church.  Each den will decorate a table and show off what they have been working on this Scout Year.  For your entertainment, each den will perform two skits.  We are also asking each Scout family to bring a desert to share with the pack. This will be a great event!      

The Webelos Cafe will be open and selling hotdogs, chips and drinks.  Bring your appetite! 

Reminder that Den 6 will be performing the flag ceremony and Den 1 will be Opening/Closing Clean-Up.

February 2018 Pack Meeting - Blue and Gold Banquet

Save the date for the Blue and Gold Banquet. The Blue and Gold is going to be held on Thursday, February 15th from 7 – 8:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church. This will be a great event with Scout Awards, Name the Spring Camp Out Contest, Friends of Scouting, cake and our special guest...Dean Bohl.
  • Each Scout will have the opportunity to enter our yearly contest to name our Spring Camp Out.
  • The Council Friends of Scouting drive will also be presented at our Blue and Gold Banquet.  Please consider donating.  See post below for more information. 
  • Cub Scout Birthday Celebration with Cake and milk.
  • Dean Bohl is a Professional Entertainer that uses balloons, ventriloquism, and surprises for the eyes.

January 2018 Pack Meeting is Race Time !!!

The Pinewood Derby and  Rain Gutter Regatta is a signature event for any Cub Scout Pack—it is definitely for YOUR pack! The Pack purchased a car or boat for every Scout. You will receive your car/boat at the December Pack Meeting. If you are unable to make it to the Pack meeting and still need a Derby car or Regatta Boat Kit, you can pick one up at the Derby Clinic on Sunday, Jan. 8th. You can also see your Den Leader or Cubmaster if you still need one. 

Siblings are welcome to get a car and participate in the sibling race also!


Lion and Tiger Cubs will be racing boats in the Rain Gutter Regatta and all other scouts will be racing cars in the Pinewood Derby.  


The Webelos CafĂ© will be open for those that build up an appetite during the meeting

Derby Weigh-In

January 18th is a mandatory weigh‐in from 6:00 ‐ 8:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church. Please take note that you will surrender your car/boat once it has been weighed until after the derby race. This rule is necessary to ensure that the cars are not modified after they qualify at the weigh‐in. For the Lions and Tigers, you can try out your boat. Please see the Race Rules to ensure your car or boat is ready to go for the racing.

Race Day! 

Derby Races will be on January 19th starting at 6:30 PM. There will be awards for the top winners in each rank and then also overall pack winners. We will also have pack winners for Best Design and Best Paint Job.
