Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta 2017

January Pack Meeting is Race Time !!!

The Pinewood Derby and Rain Gutter Regatta is a signature event for any Cub Scout Pack—it is definitely for YOUR pack! The Pack purchased a car or boat for every Scout. You will receive your car/boat at the December Pack Meeting. If you are unable to make it to the Pack meeting and still need a Derby car or Regatta Boat Kit, you can pick one up at the Derby Clinic on Sunday, Jan. 8th. Siblings are welcome to get a car and participate in the sibling race also!

Lion and Tiger Cubs will be racing boats in the Rain Gutter Regatta and all other scouts will be racing cars in the Pinewood Derby.

Derby Weigh‐In:
January 19th is a mandatory weigh‐in from 5:00 ‐ 8:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church. Please take note that you will surrender your car/boat once it has been weighed until after the derby race. This rule is necessary to ensure that the cars are not modified after they qualify at the weigh‐in. For the Lions and Tigers, you can try out your boat. Please see the Race Rules to ensure your car or boat is ready to go for the racing.

Race Day:
Derby Races will be on January 20th starting at 6:30 PM. There will be awards for the top winners in each rank and then also overall pack winners. We will also have pack winners for Best Design and Best Paint Job.

Obedient

More on Our January Theme...Obedient.

A Scout is Obedient. A Scout follows the rules of his family, school, and troop. He obeys the laws of his community and country. If he thinks these rules and laws are unfair, he tries to have them changed in an orderly manner rather than disobeying them.

These last few months you have had great adventures, but you have also learned about always doing your best and obeying the Scout Law. Rules and laws are important. Following the rules and laws help make our community a better place to live because there is order. I challenge each of you to do your best each day to make your community better by obeying not only the rules and laws of your home, school, and community, but by following the Scout Law each and every day. Remember, a Scout is obedient.

Try to incorporate the Scout Law core values into everything you do.
Always remember, a Scout is: TRUSTWORTHY, LOYAL, HELPFUL,FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS, KIND, OBEDIENT, CHEERFUL, THRIFTY, BRAVE, CLEAN and REVERENT
